Good marketing strategies are evergreen, right?

WRONG!!!

Color-coordinated Instagram feeds, overfilling hashtags, and fake bots (yes I see you) are last year’s stories.

If you want to really grab 2022 by the horns and propel your business growth here’s a guide to help escape some outdated trends that are best left behind – trust me.

1. Hit pause on moment marketing for a while

Ok first let’s clarify some things. I am not saying don’t be active on social media, and definitely be reactive when that reaction is aligned with your brands’ values.

But please stop juping on every trend on TikTok that has nothing to do with your product or service, your customers know when it’s genuine.

Have a social media calendar and plan, highlight events and happenings that are relevant and personal to your brand, and your customers will appreciate it.

2. Hash the hashtag

Social media posts won’t equal more sales, even if you’re clouding your posts with 30 different hashtags. The amount of impact that hashtags by themselves have is yet to be proven, but there are a few things you can do to improve your chances.

For the majority of cases, unless you’ve read our post on how to use Instagram for business, I would suggest reading it or sticking to 3 to 5 most relevant subjects that fit your brand and the content you share.

3. Not every post is a selling opportunity

You love your business/product but sometimes your customer just isn’t looking for it. Don’t sound too pushy, and definitely don’t over promise and under deliver. Listen to your customers, and use that to shape your pitch and products then they will buy. Sell to them, not at them.

4. Your brand isn’t a meme

Memes are one of the most shared content forms on the internet today. However unless your business is a meme page, avoid overdoing memes. It will be hard to increase your reach otherwise. Alternatively, sit down with us and let’s analyze your product shareability and find ways to reach that growth. Try focusing on educating or entertaining content as an alternative to memes.

5. Don’t speak robot

Does anyone still use follow-unfollow bots? Humanize your brand, and let your consumers feel the authenticity of your one2one communication. Your brand’s tone of voice should be consistent across all types of media.
